How develop safe machine for environment and operator which fulfils all requirements by law?
From idea till operational machine safety should be part of engineering. By risk analyse, risks can be detected and reduced as soon as possible in the development phase.
Hardware(HW) must be produced according standards and directives.
- Clearances on PCB’s;
- Pollution degrees ;
- Shock;
- EMC;
- EMI.
Software(SW) should be produced according standards and directives :
- Like MISRA;
- Syntax in line with used SW language;
- State diagram;
- Code with clear comment;
- Version management.
When HW and SW build together system can possibly fulfil his tasks.
The correctness of machine regarding: production, safety and efficiency must be proven before production. Systems and/or machines must be engineered for occurrence of several error at the same time. Systems which are not developed and/or not certified for these modes are not correct. Is systematic error in engineering and/or certification which is very dangerous and should be avoided.
The whole system/machine is part of the risk analyse from sensor up till actuator (including brake, wheels, ropes, when applicable) so system and/or machine can stop motion and remain safe state (when stop is defined as safe state of course).
Is the system and/or machine correct? Can be, only consumer will be belief this when this has been proven by us of standards and directives.
By calculation PFH and/or PFH the possible SIL level can be calculated. All calculations has errors, because of modelling the reality. Terms used: PTI, tce, T, channels, DC, CCF, SFF, β, ʎdd, ʎdu, ʎsu, ʎsd.
100% safety is not possible only the accepted risk by publicity is leading.
Is system for law safe and accepted? When standards are fulfilled it is for law fine. Is it a good machine and/or system? Can be.
